Vida Consejeria Individual y Familia's employees are highly-trained, experienced and dedicated to the success of our business.
Nidia Ponce, LCSW is trained to counsel individuals (ages 6 and up), couples, and families. She helps people navigate anxiety, loneliness, shame, abuse, depression, trauma, grief /
loss, anger / aggression, premarital and marital issues, parenting and family challenges, divorce recovery, and conflict resolution. She is trained in evidence base practices, including EMDR
and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), interventions that are based on scientific studies.
Nidia approaches counseling with the deeply felt belief, “Your story matters.” With her warm, direct, and empathetic style, she invites her clients deeper into their stories,
leveraging her life lessons, education, clinical experience, and personal faith to bring new insight into their experience. As her clients connect their internal worlds of thinking and feeling to
their external worlds of behavior, they are better able to establish genuine and meaningful relationships. Nidia approaches counseling with a team approach, believing each person is an important
part of the team, and that each person’s thoughts, feelings, and opinions matter. She helps her clients discover their own unique strengths, understand their feelings, and learn how to develop coping
skills, set goals, and overcome obstacles, as she helps their families understand behaviors, improve communication, and establish boundaries within
relationships.
After personally experiencing the positive impact of counseling, Nidia earned her Master’s in Clinical Social Work from Smith College School for Social Work. She has more than 16
years of experience working at the community setting. She also holds a Bachelors in Human Services from Metropolitan State University of Denver. Because of her passion for strengthening marriages,
Nidia is pursuing her certification in EFT and EMDR. She also specializes on immigration and adaptation issues. She is Bilingual (English - Spanish) and
Bicultural.
Nidia and her husband have over 14 years and are raising three children, and her personal and professional experience have convinced her that every story includes some pain and
disconnection. Nidia can equip you with new skills, guiding you through a process of healing and reconnection as your story takes a new direction.
Rene Tenorio works with individuals, males and families and has a special interest in multicultural counseling, helping clients adjust to life transitions, and working with clients
experiencing difficulty with relational and trust recovery. He is Bilingual (Spanish- English) and Bicultural and has worked for the past six years in the addictions
field.
Warm and inviting, Rene creates a safe, nurturing, non-judgmental atmosphere as he guides his clients’ natural ability to make changes in their lives with his strengths-based
perspective and vivacious demeanor. He uses an integrated treatment approach that takes into account the mind, body and relationships, incorporating Cognitive Behaviora Therapy, mindfulness, and
biblical principles where appropriate and preferred.
Rene graduated with a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Colorado Christian University in Denver, Colorado and has worked with individuals, families,
psychoeducational groups, and therapy addiction related groups in a mental health clinic, and at an outpatient addictions treatment clinic. To equip him in his work with clients he has specialized
training on MRT and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
Rene is passionate about counseling because he has seen firsthand the changes and healing that therapy can bring to the lives of individuals, couples, and families. His goal as he
walks with people through challenges is that his clients would leave each time with a sense of hope. Rene and his wife of 14 years provide marriage enrichment conferences. Rene enjoys exploring his
Colorado surroundings, traveling, camping, and quality time with family and friends.
Rene offers a sliding
scale based on income for fee reduction for qualified clients.
